grateful dead music

you are trying to catch a genie
and put it back in the bottle....

when it got out, it lit off in smoke
over your head and out of reach

designed to last forever and
disappear at the same time.

you can't hear it in the wind: roll
up the windows, crank the volume.

still it can slide out, drawn by the
big empty outside, meaning something.

i've wondered the same thing myself numerous times -- which recording WON'T just blow away in the wind, or the oncoming rush of a semi -- or get lost in the din of the kitchen?

i lean towards 1971. some of 1970 too..... try DP 35 on for size.

it's the dead -- whatever you choose, some of it always dissolves into the atmosphere.
